Overview
The Jira Feature in Business Central streamlines the Time Registration process for employees by integrating Jira with Business Central jobs and tasks. Instead of manually searching for the correct project and project task for each time entry, employees can simply register time directly against the Jira Issues they are working on.
This feature ensures:
- Efficiency: Reduces the complexity of time registration by eliminating the need to navigate multiple projects and tasks.
- Accuracy: Links Jira issues to Business Central jobs and tasks, ensuring consistent data across systems.
- Flexibility: Supports parent-child relationships in Jira. If a Jira issue has a parent (such as an Epic) that is already mapped to a Business Central job, the child issue will automatically inherit the parent’s mapping. This minimizes duplicate mappings and maintains alignment between Jira and Business Central.
By leveraging this integration, organizations can improve project tracking, simplify employee workflows, and maintain accurate job costing.

The Time Registration Card has been enhanced to support Jira integration. Instead of selecting a Project and Project Task for each time entry, employees can now simply enter the Jira Issue Key corresponding to the work they are performing.
Additionally: - The card displays the Jira Estimate for the selected issue, providing visibility into the planned effort. - All other standard fields (Date, Time From, Time To, Quantity, Description, Personal) remain available for accurate time tracking.
This streamlined approach reduces complexity and ensures that time registrations are directly linked to Jira issues, improving accuracy and efficiency.
